[as the device turns on, a lovely redheaded woman comes into view. anyone who hasn't lived under a rock the past few years should recognize her as mitsuru kirijo, heiress to the kirijo group. she wastes no time in speaking.]

Hello to everyone, old and new face alike. I am Mitsuru Kirijo, one of those who has previously faced what we are all facing now. All of you deserve an explanation as to what is going on and I will elucidate as much as I am.

The abnormal events taking place during the night all occur during a period of time called The Dark Hour.

[insert a lengthy explanation about the dark hour and shadows and all that jazz.]

The reappearance of the Dark Hour is not something which ought to be taken lightly.

[her straight face briefly shifts into an uneasy frown. why it is happening again?? no matter why, it can't be a good sign.]

For what reason and by which means it is occurring once again remains unknown, but what is clear is that it must be stopped.

[the frown vanishes and her seriousness returns full force. worrying about something not yet known is pointless, after all! right now they need to start trying to get information and piece things together, bit by bit. that will lead to answers.]

This is why I request the assistance of those of you here, those who possess the potential. Neither I not anyone else will pressure you to agree. The choice to act or to pretend none of this ever happened is all yours. If anyone has further questions do not hesitate in asking. Thank you.

[Naoto would rather talk about all of this in person, so after checking to make sure it was alright, she headed over to Mitsuru's apartment. She'll politely thank her senpai once the door is opened, stepping inside.]

Already, there's so much to this that doesn't make sense. [How many people have the potential, the suddenness of the return, how it would return in the first place...] The only way to go is forward, but... as I'm aware, we have nothing to work off of.

[once naoto steps fully inside, the door is closed behind her. speaking in person feels more secure regardless of the fact she's the one behind the communication devices. paranoid, maybe, but a small degree of caution never hurts.

mitsuru's expression is enough to say she feels equally confused about all this. none of it makes sense and, worse yet, is unlikely to make sense for some time.]

The only thing to do is remain patient and seek out as many clues as we can.

[she pauses before her confusion is replaced by a more serious, more confident expression.]

You and I have been forced to find the truth before, Shirogane; we can do so once more.

[Seeking out the truth of the situation is the only really option they have... not like either of them were likely to pick a different option.]

That's certainly true... Is there anything we do know? I've been looking into the origin of the university and haven't found anything suspicious. [you know like being a former lab sight.] Do you know anything about it, or perhaps the surrounding town?

[mitsuru moves to the living room and sits down in one of her overly elaborate chairs (they were forced on her okay). she frowns and shakes her head.]

No, nothing out of the ordinary has happened here. As far as my sources have gathered, this is as normal a city as any other.

[making looking into it a dead end. maybe there's some more info they're missing but her people are still prying into it.]

[Inaba hadn't held anything behind the city in particular, but it also had the Midnight Channel instead of the Dark Hour. It makes more sense to look at Iwatodai in comparison.]

Hopefully we'll be able to come up with something. Unfortunately, I suspect that the only way we're going to make any discoveries is venturing out during the Dark Hour. [Which is mostly unfortunate because there are so many people without experience who are going to be out there as well...]

[Much as she hates to admit it, that seems to be the only way. Nothing can be found when there doesn't seem to be anything to find outside the Dark Hour.]

Indeed. It'll be a slow process with so many newly awakened individuals, but we will make due. Although proper exploration may be unable to take place for some time, it'll be beneficial in the long run.

[More fighters mean a greater chance of uncovering new details and the like. It's time consuming to train them, but worth it. The last group she'd trained had more than proven that.]

[Naoto nods.] Training is naturally the first priority for those who would wish to help. I am slightly concerned about those who would decide not to, but are still awake during that time.

[she might have a classmate in mind as an example- some people are reckless enough that they might run around at night even knowing what's out there lurking.]

[ ooc: I was kind of sick during the last post, so I didn't tag in! Please correct me if I'm assuming anything wrong. ]

[ Have the visage of one of the professors here showing up on the screen. He rarely used video, except in the most dire of circumstances... like now. ]

What can we do to help?

[ Fending off Shadows every night isn't too hard if you planned a saferoom beforehand. But his inability to fight still troubled him. ]

[ah, the face does look like one of the facility. mitsuru can't place the name, but it's still comforting to have an authority figure on their side.]

Aid us in exploring the Dark Hour and seeking out clues to help us piece together the truth so that we may bring about an end to it once more.

[ He is a rather rare individual amongst the hallways, being a professor serving double duty at the local hospital. His teaching post is as an assistant professor for Biological Sciences, so he usually only substituted in when the professor was not available. ]

I'm afraid you need to be more specific. How do we go about doing that?

[ It's amazing, though, how students took their own initiative to solve these problems. ]

By the use of Persona. It's an ability that will allow us to search for answers despite the dangers lurking during the Dark Hour.

[that thing she mentioned earlier is the key. maybe she should have a session in the next dark hour showing how summoning and combat with one works.]

[ Hm. He hasn't heard of that before. ]

I hope this ability can be taught? I am not a good physical combatant, unfortunately.

[ He was never amongst the fitter ones of the class, ever since young. ]

Both it and physical combat can be taught. The optimal time for training both is during the Dark Hour so I intend to set up a date to begin that shortly.

[all she's waiting on is additional evokers, really.]

[ Well, it isn't something he can refuse, is it? ]

You have my word, then. I can be nominal adult supervision... though I doubt you will need it.

[ These kids seem to have most things together. ]

I'm not a fighter, but nor do I intend to pretend.

I can provide weaponry as long as you specify a weapon of choice and training can occur during the Dark Hour itself. Additionally, Evokers will be given to those wishing to join our fight and those will allow for the summoning of a Persona.

Do you need me to say it in smaller words? I don’t fight.

We can always use additional support as opposed to fighters, as well. If you're fortunate enough, your Persona will be one suitable for that role.

What sort of demon is a Persona?

A Persona is the manifestation of one's inner self. Personas come in various forms with a wide array of abilities, support skills included.

[At first, Fuuka wasn't sure what to say back but one thing was clear]

Mitsuru-senpai, I wouldn't mind helping out if I can. Although, I do admit, I'm afraid there isn't much we can go on and I don't know where we can even start.

Or for that matter, for those who can't fight, would it be possible to find those who can train them?

Rest assured I will provide weapons and basic training for those who are incapable of combat.

It is true we know very little, but I know that together we can solve this. We have done the impossible before, Yamagishi, and I know that it can be done again.

That's good, I was worried what would happen if they can't defend themselves against another attack!

[With that, there was a sigh of relief from Fuuka]

I really hope so but we do need to be careful. From what I've gathered from the previous attack, we were unprepared for this one.

[ouch. mitsuru flinches a little, though thankfully fuuka can't see that.]

Our unpreparedness cannot be argued. Who could have expected the Dark Hour to return again...

[and after everything they went through to stop it last time...]

[While Fuuka can’t see it, it doesn’t change how she said it. With that, the young woman only offered her a sad smile]

B-But that’s okay, it just means we’ll need to be prepared the next time around! Even if we weren’t, at least we can do something about it now right?

[That and she feels guilty for doing that to her leader!]

Although, I do have to wonder what could have triggered it...

Something unlikely to have best interests in mind for humanity if this Dark Hour is like it's predecessors.

[It's never been a good thing so it probably isn't now.]

But that's right. We'll do what we are able and hope that it is enough to put an end to this.

If they are anything like Ikutsuki-san, I hope they reconsider. Humanity isn't just something that can be played with and the consequences are...

[She bit her lip a little. She wanted to finish it but opted for clearing her throat instead.]

How do we fight it... them?

[As Richard found out, no weapon he has access to was effective.]

Through the use of a Persona. It is the most effective means of fighting Shadows and I will provide everyone with the means to summon one within a few days.

[the fun is going to be explaining that shooting yourself in the head with these guns is okay.]
